About the Speaker

Jake Simon is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Colorado and a visiting scientist at the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), where he was formerly a Sagan Fellow.

Simon’s research interests include topics in accretion disk physics, planet formation, astrophysical gas dynamics, and computational astrophysics. The core of my research focuses on the structure and evolution of protoplanetary disks, including the nature of turbulence in these disks and the processes by which planetary systems form.
