Eternal Multi-Messenger Workshop
This will be a day-long event which combines experts in galactic astronomy, gravitational waves, and other field of astrophysics, to better understand the physics we can extract from long-lived multi messenger signals. The focus will therefore be supermassive black hole binaries in both the Pulsar Timing Array and LISA bands.
9:00am — 10:45am:
Welcome and opening remarks from SOC: Chiara Mingarelli, Priya Natarajan, Andrew MacFadyen, Zoltan Haiman (5 mins).
Morning PTA overview: Sarah Burke-Spolaor (30 mins + 15 min discussion).
Morning LISA overview: Kelley Holley-Bockelmann (30 mins + 15 min discussion).
11:00am — 12:30pm:
Predictions and searches for SMBHBs EM counterparts: Panel: Tamara Bogdanovic*, Julian Krolik, Maria Charisi, Dong Lai.
Discussion to include clues about SMBHB host galaxies, direct probes of binary activity, and current binary candidates.
1:30pm – 3:00pm:
Multimessenger astrophysics – current status: Panel: Michael Eracleous*, Andrea Lommen, Joe Simon, Cole Miller, Shane Larson.
Who has thoughts about PTA and LISA MM signals?
3:30pm — 5:30pm:
Multimessenger astrophysics – future directions: Science we can only do with these long-lived signals, future telescopes: Jon Trump*, Anna Barnacka, Dan D’Orazio, John Baker,Suvodip Mukherjee.
6:00pm — until:
