GRPIC (General-Relativistic Particle-In-Cell methods and applications to collisionless accretion on black holes)

Date & Time

The workshop will gather a group of people who work on developing next-generation general-relativistic (GR) kinetic plasma codes. These codes will be applied to understand accretion on black holes in our galaxy and M87, where the flow is expected to be collisionless. A kinetic approach in full GR is also necessary to understand the launching of astrophysical jets and mechanisms of particle acceleration near event horizons of black holes.
