SCOPE Investigators Announced

On October 1, the Simons Collaboration on Ocean Processes and Ecology (SCOPE) began funding eight new investigators, chosen through a competitive application process, who joined eight founding investigators. The investigators represent both U.S. and international institutions.

The purpose of SCOPE, based at the University of Hawai’i, is to advance our understanding of the biology, ecology and biogeochemistry of microbial processes that dominate the global ocean. This collaborative effort focuses on a model ecosystem at a site called Station ALOHA, located 100 km north of Oahu, that is representative of a large portion of the North Pacific Ocean.

See the University of Hawai’i’s website to learn more about SCOPE.
