Jerry Vinokurov came to Simons in 2020 to work on the HumanBase project at the Center for Computational Biology. Prior to his arrival at the foundation, Jerry spent two years building a tool for constructing generic data pipelines for Adaptive Management, a start-up in the fintech space. Before that he was a Software Engineer at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau focusing on making regulatory documents more accessible to the public, and before that he was a Research Programmer at Carnegie Mellon University, using high-level cognitively-motivated frameworks to model human task performance. Jerry got his Ph.D. in physics from Brown University and his B.A. in physics and mathematics from UC Berkeley.
