Karin Sandstrom, Ph.D.

Karin Sandstrom is an Associate Professor in the Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics at the University of California, San Diego. She is an observational astronomer who studies star formation and the interstellar medium in nearby galaxies. Karin earned her PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009. She was a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany and a Bok Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Arizona before joining the faculty at UC San Diego.
