Rae Holcomb

Pre-Doctoral Fellow, Astronomical Data, CCA, Flatiron Institute

Rae joined the Center for Computational Astrophysics as a Pre-Doctoral Fellow in the Fall of 2022, where she is working with Dr. Ruth Angus on characterizing the mid-frequency continuum activity of Kepler stars. She is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of California Irvine, where she works with the Robertson research group on RV exoplanet surveys and stellar activity studies, with a particular emphasis on M dwarf systems. Her recent work includes SpinSpotter, an open source package to identify stellar rotation periods from photometric surveys such as TESS and Kepler. She obtained her B.S. in Astrophysics from Rice University in 2019, where she was awarded the Dessler Prize for Achievement in Astronomy.
