Ron Edgar joined the foundation’s Informatics team in July 2018 and leads a number of projects, including Vesta, the Autism BrainNet and the Events system. Edgar has been consulting for the foundation since 2015 and before that was vice president of bioinformatics in a couple of startups. He served as section chief at the National Center for Biotechnology Information at the National Institutes of Health and as senior scientific officer at the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Edgar holds a B.Sc. in chemistry from Tel Aviv University and a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel.
