Vera Sós is a Hungarian mathematician based at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. She specializes in number theory and combinatorics and has frequently collaborated with Paul Erdős, Alfréd Rényi and her husband Pál Turán. With her 2012 paper in the Annals of Mathematics, Sós beat “all the stereotypes about mathematics being a game played by the young,” says interviewer and fellow mathematician and computer scientist Lázlo Babai of the University of Chicago.
