Aleksander Kubica, Ph.D.

Aleksander Kubica is a researcher at Amazon. As a member of It from Qubit, we was a postdoc at Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and the University of Waterloo, Canada. Originally from Poland, he studied mathematics and physics at the University of Warsaw for his undergraduate degree. Kubica received his Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology under the supervision of John Preskill. His recent work has focused on achieving fault-tolerant quantum computation with topological quantum error-correcting codes. He is interested in exploring insights that quantum information science can provide into the classification of quantum phases of matter and the bulk/boundary correspondence.
