Caleb Wheeler

Detector/Readout Development Scientist, Simons Observatory, Flatiron Institute

Caleb Wheeler joined the Center for Computational Astrophysics as a Detector/Readout Development Scientist for Simons Observatory. Caleb received his PhD. in Astrophysics from the University of Arizona in 2016 and his B.S. degree in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Missouri. He has held numerous teaching and research assistant positions while earning his degrees, and has held two postdoctoral positions — one at Fisk University in 2017, the other at Arizona State University from 2018 to mid-2019. Caleb was also a Research Scientist at The Southwest Research Institute and directly prior to joining CCA, he was a Visiting Scholar for the BLAST 2019-2020 Antarctic Campaign at the University of Pennsylvania.
