About the Speaker

Pascale Garaud is a Full Professor in the department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at the Baskin School of Engineering at UC Santa Cruz.  Her main research interests are in fluid dynamics and magnetohydrodynamics applied to astrophysics and occasionally geophysics.  Garaud specializes in semi-analytical work, using a combination of “pen-and-paper” calculations with moderate-size numerical computations and also collaborates with researchers specialized in high-performance computing of fluid dynamical phenomena and help in the interpretation of the numerical results.
