Iryna completed her undergraduate studies at Caltech, where she discovered her passion for astrophysics. As a graduate student at the University of Washington, she studied galaxy evolution through simulations as a Blue Waters Graduate Fellow and a Pre-doctoral fellow at the CCA. In the fall of 2021, Iryna will return to Caltech as a postdoctoral fellow at the Burke Institute for Theoretical Physics, where she will continue her research into the effects of cosmic rays on the structure of the circumgalactic medium. Iryna lives with her husband Dan, and their two doggos, Mink and Finn. She stays in shape by running and hiking, and expresses her creativity through cooking and baking.
