Matthew Fishman joined the Center for Computational Quantum Physics at the Flatiron Institute in September, 2018. In 2012 he graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University with a B.S. in Engineering Physics. In 2018 he received a PhD in physics from the California Institute of Technology, where he developed tensor network algorithms under the supervision of Steven White and John Preskill. He is a recipient of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. He is currently the lead developer of the ITensor library, and his research interests mostly focus on developing tensor network software in the Julia language and tensor network algorithms with applications to quantum many-body problems.
