Saverio Spagnolie is an associate professor in mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a courtesy appointment in chemical/biological engineering. His research areas include fluid mechanics, soft matter, and biological propulsion, which he investigates using classical methods of applied mathematics and through the development of novel numerical methods. He is a visiting scholar in the Center for Computational Biology at the Flatiron Institute working with group leader Michael Shelley.
