Simons Center for the Social Brain (SCSB)
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
SCSB was founded in 2012 with the goal to build and strengthen the community of scientists and clinicians in the Boston area who seek to advance research on the neural mechanisms underlying social cognition and behavior, and to translate this knowledge into better diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders. It is directed by Mriganka Sur, Ph.D.
Simons Initiative for the Developing Brain (SIDB)
University of Edinburgh
SIDB was founded in 2017 as a “virtual center” and collaborative venture between researchers at the University of Edinburgh. Its mission is to discover biological mechanisms underlying autism and to use this information to deliver rational therapeutic interventions. It is led by Peter Kind, Ph.D. (Director) and Adrian Bird, Ph.D. (Deputy Director).
