- The Center for Computational Quantum Physics (CCQ) of the Simons Foundation’s Flatiron Institute, jointly with the Department of Physics at Columbia University, invites applications for a position in the general area of theoretical/computational quantum condensed matter physics. The position is a 50-50 joint appointment between Columbia University and CCQ, with the appointee spending half of her or his effort in each place. At Columbia the opening is at the tenure track Assistant Professor level and, at CCQ, it is at the Associate Research Scientist level. The position is based at the Simons Foundation and Columbia offices in New York City. In order to be considered for this joint appointment, candidates must submit their application both with Columbia and with CCQ. Review of applications will start on or about November 15, 2026 and continue until the position is filled.

- The Center for Computational Quantum Physics (CCQ) of the Simons Foundation’s Flatiron Institute invites applications for multiple Flatiron Research Fellow and Flatiron Research Fellow-Software postdoctoral positions. The initial appointment is for two years with possible renewal for a third year. Starting dates are flexible, typically between August 2027 and November 2027. Applications will be reviewed beginning in Fall 2026 and considered on a rolling basis until the positions are filled. For full consideration, application by October 9, 2026 is recommended. Flatiron Research Fellows-Software are positions for scientists who have recently completed the PhD and whose work is more directly aligned with our software and coding efforts.
