- [email protected]
Sean O’Connor is a senior software engineer at the Simons Foundation, where he designs, builds and maintains web applications that support the foundation’s work, including SFARI Base. He oversees the full life cycle of these platforms, from bringing new designs to life and expanding their features to keeping them secure, stable and reliable through ongoing updates. O’Connor also architected the foundation’s in-house resource-proposal software and developed a flexible form-building system that lets the team adapt quickly as program needs change.
Before joining the foundation in 2017, O’Connor spent more than a decade building user interfaces and tools for games and consumer technology. At The Meta, he led a user-interface engineering team and created an in-game editor for player-created content. Earlier, as a gameplay engineer at Maxis, he developed core simulation and interface systems for SimCity and built tools for The Sims 4.
O’Connor holds a B.S. in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh.
