Nat Simons is the chairman of Meritage Group LP, an investment management firm spun out of Renaissance Technologies. Previously a principal at Renaissance, Simons continues to serve on the company’s board.
He and his wife, Laura Baxter-Simons, are co-founders and co-directors of the Sea Change Foundation (SCF) and Sea Change Foundation International. The foundations support and foster policies, investments and practices that reduce the most substantial sources of greenhouse gas emissions. Simons and Baxter-Simons joined the Giving Pledge in 2017. Simons has a B.A. in economics and an M.A. in mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a board member of the Nick Simons Foundation and the Paul Simons Foundation.
