Workshop Information

We are excited to see everyone at the Flatiron Center for Computational Neuroscience workshop on using open source packages to analyze neural data in January 2027!

Over the course of this two-day workshop, we will walk you through jupyter notebooks in order to demonstrate how to use pynapple and NeMoS to analyze and visualize your data. We will split into group projects for more hands-on applications of these packages.

This website will be updated as the workshop approaches with links to the presentations for the workshop, as well as to other useful information.

Apply here.

Intended Audience

This workshop is intended for grad students and postdocs who are systems neuroscientists. In order to make best use of the limited space in the workshop, we will prioritize accepting one applicant per lab. Applicants are expected to have basic familiarity with python:

  • They should have used python and standard scientific python libraries (e.g., numpy, matplotlib, scikit-learn).
  • They should be able to write their own functions to analyze and visualize data.
  • They are not expected to be familiar with either pynapple or NeMoS.

To date, NeMoS and pynapple have been used to analyze optophysiology, single unit electrophysiology, and multi-unit electrophysiology (view websites linked below for example analyses). We will thus prioritize applicants who are currently or planning to analyze those data modalities.

Application Information

The workshop application opens on October 19, 2026.

Apply here.

The deadline to submit is midnight November 22, 2026.

Accepted applicants will be notified the first week of December.

In your application, include information about your lab, career level, and research. When describing your research, please include details about your model organisms and data modalities.
