Junior Faculty Level (Early Career), Postdoctoral Researcher

The Simons Foundation’s Life Sciences division invited applications for postdoctoral fellowships to support candidates who intended to pursue a career in basic research on fundamental problems in marine microbial ecology, with an emphasis on understanding the role of microorganisms in shaping ocean processes and vice versa. We were interested in applicants with training in different disciplines, including modeling and theory development, as well as applicants already involved in ocean research.

More Funding Opportunities

These postdoctoral fellowships support candidates who intend to pursue a career in basic research on fundamental problems in plant biology. This program aims to support researchers seeking to understand the inner workings of plants at the level of the whole organism or below.

Apply by December 3, 2026

Supports research applying engineering principles to understand plant function, from developing sensors and engineering resilient plants to genetic modifications that reveal trade-offs in growth and development.

Supports students entering U.S.-based Ph.D. programs in ecology and evolution, with particular interest in interdisciplinary research spanning ecological and evolutionary timescales and other STEM fields.
