Bio

Charlie joined the Center for Computational Neuroscience in 2026, working with Alex Williams in the Statistical Analysis of Neural Data group. He develops probabilistic machine learning methods to help extract and explore signals in neural activity, with interests including spike sorting and unsupervised modeling problems. He received his Ph.D. in Statistics from Columbia University, where he worked with Liam Paninski, and he previously studied applied math and computer science at Brown University.
