Steven Giavasis

Steven Giavasis is a senior software engineer at the Simons Foundation, where he develops and maintains software systems which serve the Informatics division’s mission to enable scientific research in Autism & Neuroscience. His work focuses on both developing the systems that enable study operations and scientific data sharing, and building new internal tools which help streamline and elevate the Informatics team’s processes.

Before joining the foundation in January 2026, Giavasis spent over a decade building open-source scientific software systems for neuroimaging research, notably in MRI and fMRI. He holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Manhattan University and a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
