Drummond Fielding joined the Center for Computational Astrophysics at the Flatiron Institute in November, 2018. Born in New York City and raised in the nearby town of Montclair, NJ, Drummond received degrees in physics and math from Johns Hopkins University in 2012 and received his PhD in astrophysics from UC Berkeley in 2018. He now specializes in designing controlled numerical experiments to understand phenomena essential to regulating the evolution of galaxies over cosmic time with a particular interest in galactic wind launching and the circumgalactic medium.
