Markus Wallerberger, Ph.D.

Markus Wallerberger is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan and part of Emanuel Gull’s Computational Condensed Matter Physics Group. He studied at the Vienna University of Technology under the supervision of Karsten Held and external co-supervision of Giorgio Sangiovanni (University of Würzburg) and was awarded his Ph.D. in 2016.

Markus’ research is mainly focussed on stochastic solutions for quantum impurity models and their embedding into ab-initio theories. His early work orbits around the local two-particle propagator, its efficient estimation, representation, and properties. Currently he is working on software reliability in stochastic solvers and extending the domain of such solvers to realistic impurity problems.
