Aviv Ratzon, Ph.D.

Aviv Ratzon is a Flatiron Research Fellow at the Center for Computational Neuroscience. His research examines how learning dynamics shape neural representations, with a focus on representational drift, predictive learning and the implicit biases that guide both biological and artificial networks. He earned his B.S. in electrical engineering and his Ph.D. in computational and theoretical neuroscience at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, where he worked with Omri Barak and Dori Derdikman. He values close collaboration with experimentalists, grounding theoretical work in actual scientific insights. As a long-standing interest, he wants to understand the principles under which structured solutions emerge in unconstrained, overparametrized learning systems.
