Dayu Lin is an associate professor at the New York University (NYU) School of Medicine. Her research is focused on understanding the neural mechanisms of social behaviors in mice. Using genetic engineering, tracing, functional manipulation, in vivo electrophysiological recording and computational tools, her laboratory dissects the neural circuits involved in transmitting and integrating sensory information to cause behavioral outputs.

Lin received her Ph.D. from the Department of Neurobiology at Duke University under the mentorship of Lawrence C. Katz, and then continued her postdoctoral training at the California Institute of Technology with David Anderson. In November 2010, Lin started her independent research group at NYU.
