Dylan Simon, Ph.D.

Senior Software Engineer, SCC, Flatiron Institute

Dylan Simon joined the Flatiron Institute in 2017 to provide software architecture, design, development, and training support for researchers with an emphasis on scientific analysis and data sharing. He draws on industry experience in network and systems-level software engineering, as well as extensive work with open-source development, compiler design, and functional programming. He holds a B. S. in computer science from Caltech and a Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience from New York University, where he developed computational algorithms to model human decision-making behavior and neural computations. Most recently he worked at NYU where he built the Databrary data sharing platform and developed additional research data management tools.
