Jack Heinzel, Ph.D.

Jack Heinzel joined the Center for Computational Astrophysics as a Flatiron Research Fellow in September 2026. His research focuses on inference and interpretation of the population of gravitational wave sources, and how it informs the formation and evolution of gravitational wave progenitors. He is also broadly interested in data-driven methods in astronomy. Jack obtained a PhD in physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2026 and a bachelors in physics and in mathematics at Carleton College.
