Olena Marchenko joined the Informatics team at the Simons Foundation in 2019. She is responsible for developing algorithms for large cohort omics studies and clinical data processing pipelines. Marchenko completed her graduate studies at the Cell Analysis and Modeling Graduate Program at the UConn Health Center in Farmington, Conn., where she studied biomechanics of dendritic spine morphogenesis in iPSC-derived neurons from Dup15q and Angelman syndrome patients under the mentorship of Drs. Leslie Loew and Stormy Chamberlain. Prior to joining the foundation, Marchenko worked as a Data Scientist at Cigna, and as a Bioinformatics Scientist at Philips Healthcare, designing NGS analysis pipelines for precision medicine solutions.
