Flatiron Research Fellow, Center for Computational Quantum Physics
The International Conference on Recent Progress in Many-Body Theories has awarded the Hermann Kümmel Early Achievement Award in Many-Body Physics to quantum physicist Aavishkar Patel. The award, presented today, recognizes “young physicists whose published work is a significant contribution to quantum many-body theory.”
Patel is a Flatiron Research Fellow at the Flatiron Institute’s Center for Computational Quantum Physics (CCQ). His research uses theoretical and computational techniques to study strongly correlated gapless quantum states of matter, focusing on their dynamical properties and the role of inhomogeneities. He was previously a Miller Research Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, and earned a Ph.D. in physics from Harvard University.
