DMITRI KHARZEEV

Dmitri Kharzeev is a distinguished professor at Stony Brook University and the head of RIKEN-BNL Theory group at Brookhaven National Laboratory.

He is a theoretical physicist working on quantum field theory, nuclear physics, condensed matter physics and quantum information. One of his main research interests is the physics of chiral matter and its applications in quantum technology.

Kharzeev received his Ph.D. from Moscow State University in 1990 and was a postdoctoral fellow at INFN, CERN and Bielefeld University prior to moving to Stony Brook and BNL. He is a fellow of APS and AAAS, and a recipient of Humboldt Research Prize and several honorary degrees.
