Simone Aiola, Ph.D.

Simone Aiola joined the CCA at the end of 2018 as the Data and Pipeline Project Leader for the Simons Observatory (SO). While at the foundation, Simone will lead the development of the data-reduction pipeline, which will allow us to extract cosmological information from the raw data of the four soon-to-be-deployed SO telescopes.

Before joining the foundation, Simone was a postdoctoral research associate at Princeton University for roughly two years, where he mostly focused on analyzing the data from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope. Simone has a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.Sc and M.Sc from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
