Lucas Bouck, Ph.D.

Lucas Bouck joined the Center for Computational Biology as a Flatiron Research Fellow in the Biophysical Modeling Group in September 2026. His research focuses on modeling, analysis and numerical approximation of complex fluids and thin elastic structures. Before joining the Flatiron Institute, he was a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University. He earned his Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the University of Maryland in 2023, where he developed models and computational methods for thin sheets of liquid crystal elastomers.
