David G. Clark, Ph.D.

David G. Clark is a Group Leader and Associate Research Scientist at the Flatiron Institute’s Center for Computational Neuroscience and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at Columbia University. His research develops theories of how connectivity, dynamics, and computation are linked in large neural circuits, using tools from statistical physics and machine learning.

From 2025 to 2026, David was a Research Fellow at the Kempner Institute for the Study of Natural and Artificial Intelligence at Harvard University. He received his Ph.D. in Neurobiology and Behavior from Columbia University in 2025, where he was advised by Larry Abbott and worked with Ashok Litwin-Kumar, Haim Sompolinsky, and Richard Axel. Before that, he studied physics and computer science at UC Berkeley.
