Toshi Parmar, Ph.D.

Toshi Parmar joined the Center for Computational Biology (CCB) in September 2026 as a Flatiron Research Fellow in the Biophysical Modeling group. Prior to joining CCB, Toshi received a Ph.D. in theoretical physics at University of California Santa Barbara, and a B.Tech. in engineering physics from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. Toshi’s Ph.D. work involved continuum modeling of biological tissues like epithelia, fibroblasts, and Hydra ectoderm. Toshi is broadly interested in the interplay of proliferation, mechanics, and patterning in bringing form to biology.
