Gauss Prize Video: David Donoho and the Unreasonable Effectiveness of Mathematics

David Donoho of Stanford University is award the 2018 Gauss Prize for his fundamental contributions to the mathematical, statistical and computational analysis of signal processing

The Carl Friedrich Gauss prize honors scientists whose mathematical research has had an impact outside mathematics – either in technology, in business, or simply in people’s everyday lives. It is awarded jointly by the  German Mathematical Union and the IInternational Mathematical Union.

This video was presented at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Rio de Janeiro on August 4, 2018.
