Flatiron-Wide Machine Learning (FWML)

Date & Time

The use of ML in science has ballooned over the past few years, and similarly, the number of scientists at Flatiron who specialize in ML or in applying ML to scientific problems. The goal of this meeting is to bring together the ML experts and practitioners across the different centers as well as to bring this collective expertise to other scientists across the foundation whose problems can potentially benefit from ML methods.

The tentative format of the conference is roughly twelve 15-minute talks (2-3 talks from each center) followed by 10-minute questions. We also plan to have lots of time for discussions and brainstorming. We hope that FWML will help solidify the FI as a leading institution in ML research, both pure and applied to the sciences.
