Adriaan Duivenvoorden, Ph.D.

Flatiron Research Fellow, Simons Observatory, CCA, Flatiron Institute

Adriaan joined the Simons Foundation in September 2022 as a Flatiron Research Fellow. At the foundation, Adriaan mainly works on cosmic microwave background (CMB) data analysis for the Simons Observatory and the Atacama Cosmology Telescope. He is interested in using cosmological data to learn about fundamental physics as well as exploring new data analysis techniques to extract information from the vast amounts of data produced by these modern observatories.

Before joining the foundation, Adriaan obtained a master’s degree in theoretical physics in Amsterdam before moving to Stockholm for a Ph.D. in physics working on SPIDER, a balloon-borne CMB polarimeter. After his Ph.D. he worked three years as a postdoctoral research associate at Princeton University.
