Andrada-Maria Marica

University College London

Andrada-Maria Marica is a fourth-year natural sciences student at University College London, where she specializes in neuroscience and psychology with a minor in math and statistics. She has a keen interest in the cortex and how neuronal populations within it give rise to perception and cognition. She developed a passion for mathematics and programming in high school and chose to continue these subjects at university as a minor to further her knowledge. This led her to the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning, which proved to be great tools for solving pressing neuroscience problems about higher-order processing. She is determined to pursue her studies in computational neuroscience in order to use computational tools not only in data analysis but also in building models of the cortex.
