Brent Tan is earning his Ph.D. in Astrophysics from University of California, Santa Barbara. He completed his undergrad at Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in Physics (Astrophysics concentration) with a Computer Science minor. His research interests revolve understanding the rich physics of multiphase gas in the circumgalactic medium of galaxies, how it affects inflows and outflows between the two regions, and what implications these have on galaxy formation.
