Brianna Garcia is in her fourth year at the University of San Francisco majoring in biology with a minor in neuroscience. Her two major areas of interest are neurobiology and cognition, and microbiology and the importance of gut health. She hopes to pursue a Ph.D. and conduct research of her own that will eventually help underserved communities. As an SCGB Undergraduate Research Fellow, she is excited to learn under the guidance of her mentor about optogenetics, laboratory techniques and computational analysis.
