David H. Brainard is a Guest Researcher working with the Laboratory for Computational Vision at the Flatiron Institute. He has a joint position as the RRL Professor of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. He received an B.A. in physics from Harvard University and an M.S. in electrical engineering and Ph.D. in psychology from Stanford University. His research focuses on color vision, intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells, retinal imaging, as well as computational models thereof. He is a fellow of the Optical Society, ARVO and the Association for Psychological Science, as well as an elected member of the Society of Experimental Psychologists and the National Academy of Sciences USA. He is currently a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Vision and co-editor of the Annual Review of Vision Science.
