Eftychios Pnevmatikakis is a Guest Researcher for Flatiron Institute’s Center for Computational Mathematics.

Eftychios Pnevmatikakis joined Flatiron Institute as a research scientist in 2014 as part of the Simons Center in Data Analysis (SCDA). He later joined the neuroscience group at the Center for Computational Biology (CCB), and later joined CCM in 2018. While at the Foundation, Eftychios primarily developed methods and accompanying software (CaImAn) for the analysis of large scale fluorescence microscopy, which are currently used by numerous neuroscience labs.

Since 2020, Eftychios has been working at Facebook Reality Labs developing methods for EMG based neuromotor interfaces, and has retained an affiliation with CCM as a Guest Researcher. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University where he also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientists at the Department of Statistics and the Center for Theoretical Neuroscience.
