Jahmour Givans, Ph.D.

Flatiron Research Fellow, Cosmology, CCA, Flatiron Institute

Jahmour Givans earned his Ph.D. in physics from The Ohio State University in 2021. Prior to that, he attended Brown University and graduated with an Sc.B in astrophysics in 2016. Before becoming a Flatiron Research Fellow, Givans was a Presidential Postdoctoral Research Fellow, a Future Faculty in the Physical Sciences Fellow and a Cotsen Fellow in the Society of Fellows at Princeton University.

Jahmour is interested in constraining fundamental physics and investigating the validity of different cosmological models using data from both the early and late universe. While at the Center for Computational Astrophysics, he hopes to continue ongoing work with a few astronomical surveys and build skills using machine learning to extract cosmological information from upcoming experiments.
