Javonna Bradford

Spelman College

Javonna Bradford is a biology major at Spelman College. Passionate about unraveling the mysteries of the brain, she was elated to be selected to pursue research on the neuromuscular system and spinal motor neurons. Her journey in academia has been characterized by diligent pursuit of knowledge and a love for scientific exploration.

Dedicated to her studies, she eagerly embraces challenges and seeks to make meaningful contributions to the field. Committed to uplifting the communities around her, she serves as the Director of Alumni Engagement for Achieve M.O.O.R.E., as a peer health educator for S.H.A.P.E. and as a youth mentor.

In addition to her academic pursuits, she finds joy in exploring art, fashion, travel, and creative writing, embracing her role as a natural storyteller. This ability has empowered her to convey scientific ideas in a compelling and approachable way, effectively bridging the divide between science and the wider community.

As she embarks on this new chapter of her scientific journey, she looks forward to sharing her experiences and discoveries with the world, aspiring to inspire others to pursue their passions in science and beyond.
