Julia Hopkins

University of Washington

Julia Hopkins is a fourth-year student at the University of Washington in Seattle (UW) pursuing a major in neuroscience and a minor in neural computation and engineering. She was introduced to neuroscience, electrical engineering and computer science in high school and was fascinated by the intersection of the three fields. At UW, a seminar on current computational neuroscience research sparked her interest in the neural circuitry underlying visual processing, behavior and motivation in the broad association regions of the cortex. Julia looks forward to pursuing these research interests as an SCGB Undergraduate Research Fellow while enjoying the strong mentorship that the program offers.
