University of Washington

Priyanka Rao is a fourth-year student studying computer science with a minor in diversity at the University of Washington (UW). She is interested in exploring the intersections among computing and neuroscience, biology and biochemistry. For the past two summers, she interned at Niantic and built tools to help automate component version updates in several games, including Pokémon Go. She is also passionate about reducing barriers to STEM fields, and has worked with multiple programs at UW to support underrepresented high schoolers interested in science and technology. As a SURFiN fellow, Priyanka can’t wait to develop skills in neuroscience research and grow her understanding of neural networks.
