Ruoyi Chen

Carnegie Mellon University

Ruoyi Chen is a student at Carnegie Mellon University majoring in neuroscience with a minor in computer science. During her undergraduate studies, she has developed an interest in the topic of visual perception within neuroscience. She worked in Sandra Kuhlman’s lab on the development and preliminary data collection of a closed-loop visual stimuli selection task for mice. As an SCGB Undergraduate Research Fellow, Ruoyi will work in the Cohen Lab at the University of Pittsburgh under the supervision of Cheng Xue. There, she will explore the interaction between task belief and perceptual performance through comparisons between results from human psychophysical experiments and monkey electrophysiological experiments. This valuable experience will help Ruoyi in her pursuit of a career in neuroscience research.
