Sebastian Belkner, M.Sc.

Predoctoral Fellow, Cosmology , CCA, Flatiron Institute

Sebastian Belkner joined the Center for Computational Astrophysics (CCA) in January 2024 as a predoctoral researcher. While at the foundation, Sebastian will develop a pipeline for performing iterative lensing reconstruction on GPUs, which will provide a speed up compared to CPU algorithms.

Sebastian is a Ph.D. student at the University of Geneva, under supervision of Julien Carron, where he mostly focuses on iterative lensing reconstruction of CMB simulation data for CMB-S4 and PICO. Sebastian obtained his M.Sc. from the University of Bonn, where he worked on supersymmetric extensions of the standard model of particle physics, and worked as a data scientist.
